Gogebic County Warrant Records Gogebic County Warrant Records

This page explains what we can and cannot help with, and where a Gogebic County warrant question should go instead. Most requests belong with the sheriff's office or the court that issued the order, not with us. The routing below sends each question to the office that can actually answer it.

This Is Not a Government or Law Enforcement Office. We run a private reference site. We cannot confirm whether an order exists, recall or clear a warrant, post bond, arrange a surrender, or give legal advice for anyone. For any of those, you need the sheriff's office or the issuing court directly.

Need Official Warrant Information?

Here is where the questions people ask most often about Gogebic County should go:

  • Whether an order exists: ask the court that issued it first, then the sheriff's office, which serves warrants and court orders for the county
  • A bench warrant for a missed date: contact the 98th District Court for a district case or the 32nd Circuit Court for a circuit case, because the issuing court holds the order
  • Resolving or clearing a warrant: talk to a licensed Michigan attorney and the issuing court about a recall, a voluntary appearance, or posting bond
  • A city citation in Ironwood, Bessemer, or Wakefield: the city writes the citation, but the district court in Bessemer holds the case

For warrants handled at the county level, the sheriff's office is at Gogebic County Sheriff's Office, 100 W. Iron St., Bessemer, MI 49911, (906) 667-0203. The jail shares that address and number. The 98th District Court sits in the county courthouse at 200 N. Moore St., Bessemer, MI 49911, (906) 663-4611, with the traffic division at (906) 667-1138. The 32nd Circuit Court is reached at (906) 663-4211, and the county clerk of court at (906) 663-4518. Court counters keep service hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Central Time, so call before making the trip.

Two other county offices answer narrower questions. The prosecutor's office at (906) 667-0471 handles charging and prosecution matters, and Friend of Court at (906) 667-0218 handles support and custody enforcement with an appointment required. Neither one can confirm or clear a warrant, so treat them as routing stops rather than status sources. A written request to the district or circuit court goes to the shared fax line at (906) 667-1102, and the sheriff's office fax is (906) 663-4090.

Ironwood runs its own combined Public Safety Department, and the city non-emergency line is (906) 932-1234 for city reports and city-held records. That number answers city questions, not court status, so a warrant question still goes to the courts in Bessemer. In every case, start with the office that holds the file and work outward: the issuing court first, the serving sheriff or city agency second, and the county clerk when the question is about a filing rather than a warrant.
